We are a Christ-centered, Bible-believing, New Testament church where everyone is welcome!

  • Day 4 - 99 Patients! Whew!!!!

We got started bright and early today as we treated patients from both communities. As the clinic team worked diligently Pastor Chadwick and Pastor Leon ran a shuttle to get people from the new community to the clinic. It was incredible when we counted 41 people getting out of our 15 passenger van!

John Prince had his first full day with us and, as you can see, he fell in love wigth the beautiful children. Pastor Chadwick and John also had the chance to interview the man who Pastor Leon believes God is calling to be the pastor of the new church. What is really neat is that this man, Elvin, moved into the community 14 months ago and lives just a few hundred yards from the church. What's amazing is that construction on the church began just 12 months ago. It looks like God placed him there ahead of time without Elvin having a clue what God was going to do in his life.

The clinic ended at 8 PM, over 11 hours after it started. At the same time we ran The Passion of the Christ movie in the new church. We ended the day at our favorite food court and, of course, we had Eskimo ice cram for dessert.

  • Day 3 is over

Day 3 was a rest day of sorts for us. We first went to the music store to purchase a sound system for the new church, then we did a little shopping run to buy some local souvenirs. After having lunch we stopped by Carlos' church to see how the construction was coming along. We also stopped by one of Wayne's "girlfriends'" house to see how she was doing. It had been 2 long years since she saw wayne and when she saw him she just burst into tears. It was a really special moment watching them reunite.

This evening we went to Pastor Leo's church for a service. The music and worship celebration was really good and Pastor Chadwick's friend, John Prince, delivered the message, plus he gave his testimony about how he was healed from cancer thanks to the prayers of those faithful prayer warriors in the church.

Well, got to go to bed now as we are very tired and need to be ready for the clinic tomorrow morning. Please keep praying for us - we appreciate so much all the prayers that have been lifted up already. It is making a huge difference!

  • Day 2 - 139 Patients Later

Day 2 was a very productive day. Despite the humidity and temperatures in the mid-90's (sorry all you snow-bound friends) we stayed well-hydrated as we worked from 8:30 AM until 6:00 pm. The only break the team got was for about 20 minutes to get a sandwich and some potato chips (that is except for Pastor Chadwick who, as the driver of the shuttle, spent some time on the road in air conditoned pleasure!). He picked up John Prince, a friend from Houston for whom Pastor Leon's church prayed for many days. John is going to preach tomorrow night and share his testimony about how God healed him. Pastor Leon's church played a major part in it. You will have to check the blog tomorrow to find out more!

Anyway, we hope you enjoy this photo from today as Wayne tried to convince Laura to be his guinea pig at the dental clinic. Fortunately Dr. Ron was able to stop him before it was too late! We have also posted a slideshow. If you want to see the photos larger just click on the slideshow to open up a larger version of them and you can scan them at your leisure. See you tomorrow!

  • Day 1 is complete!

After being delayed one day because of the record snowfall we just experienced God gave us a great break in allowing us to fly out of Richmond (instead of DC) for no extra cost. Good thing, considering the 2 1/2 feet of snow they got at the airport. Not only did we get out on time but we arrived early! After a short night's sleep we got started early to make up for lost time. We had a great day, seeing about 75 patients and treating many illnesses and sore teeth. We are looking forward to tomorrow as we continue the clinic at Iglesia Bautista Siloe in San Benito. Keep us in your prayers - for strength, endurance, good health and for divine opportunities to share Christ.
